Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information HV Athletic Showcase collects, how we use it, and the choices you have — including special protections for athletes under 18.
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, role (athlete, coach, or recruiter), and date of birth. Athletes under 18 must provide a parent or guardian email. If you subscribe to the Portfolio tier, payment is processed by Stripe — we do not store credit card numbers. We also collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and analytics purposes.
We use your information to: (a) operate and improve the Platform; (b) display your athlete profile to coaches and recruiters; (c) send transactional emails such as account confirmations and subscription receipts; (d) enforce our Terms of Service and protect the safety of our users, especially minors.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Athletes between 13 and 17 may register only with a parent or guardian email on file. Parents may review, update, or request deletion of their child's information at any time by contacting us at [email protected].
We do not sell your personal information. Athlete profiles (name, sport, school, graduation year, stats, and highlights) are visible to registered coaches and recruiters on the Platform. We share data with third-party service providers only as necessary to operate the Platform — currently Stripe (payments) and our email delivery provider — and only under confidentiality agreements.
We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember preferences, and analyze usage patterns. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features of the Platform may not function correctly without them. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.
We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS encryption and hashed passwords to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by logging into your account or contacting us at [email protected]. New York residents may have additional rights under applicable state privacy law. We will respond to verifiable requests within 30 days.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
